Our Care Services

Everyday care, delivered with warmth and consistency.

From morning routines to evening meals, our team provides the supportive care residents need to live well in a familiar, calm home. Services depend on each resident's individual needs and assessment.

What We Provide

Personalized care, thoughtfully delivered.

Every resident is different. So is every care plan. We serve families across Vancouver, Washington and Clark County, working alongside doctors, case managers, and placement agencies to build a plan that fits the person, not a one-size-fits-all schedule.

01 ยท Daily Living

Activities of daily living

Compassionate assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene. The everyday support that protects dignity and independence.

02 ยท Supervision

24-hour care and supervision

Trained caregivers in the home around the clock, with the owner living on-site. Help when it's needed, and a watchful eye when it isn't.

03 ยท Medication

Medication assistance

Reminders, organization, and assistance with medications according to each resident's care plan and provider direction. We coordinate with pharmacies and doctors when appropriate.

04 ยท Meals

Meals and snacks

Three home-cooked meals a day plus snacks. Real food in a real kitchen, with dietary restrictions and preferences thoughtfully accommodated.

05 ยท Housekeeping

Laundry and housekeeping

Personal laundry, room cleaning, and household upkeep so residents can focus on what matters: comfort, connection, and rest.

06 ยท Mobility

Mobility support

Help with walking, transfers, and movement around the home. We accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, and varied mobility needs depending on assessment.

07 ยท Incontinence Care

Toileting & incontinence support

Discreet, respectful assistance with toileting and incontinence care, depending on each resident's needs and what our home can safely provide.

08 ยท Memory Care

Memory support, when appropriate

Patient, specialized support for residents living with dementia or memory loss, depending on assessment and care needs. Whether our home is the right fit is determined individually.

09 ยท Long-Term

Long-term residential care

A calm, consistent home where residents can settle in for the long term, surrounded by familiar caregivers and a steady routine.

10 ยท Coordination

Provider coordination

We work alongside families, doctors, home health, hospice, and case managers to keep care aligned and communication open, when appropriate.

Care services depend on each resident's needs, assessment, and whether our home is the right fit. Not every care level is appropriate for an adult family home. See who we're typically a good fit for.

A Typical Day

Predictable, peaceful, and unhurried.

Mornings start gently. Coffee, breakfast at the kitchen table, the newspaper for those who still read it. Caregivers help with bathing and dressing at each resident's own pace, not on a clock.

Midday brings a home-cooked lunch, light activity, time outdoors when the weather cooperates. Afternoons are quieter, often with naps, music, or visits from family. Evenings wind down with dinner, gentle company, and the kind of calm that helps people sleep well.

It's not a program. It's just a home.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our care.

What is an Adult Family Home?
In Washington State, an Adult Family Home (AFH) is a residential home, licensed and regulated by the state, that provides housing and care services for up to six adult residents. AFHs are an alternative to larger assisted living facilities, offering a smaller, more intimate setting.
How is an AFH different from a nursing home?
Nursing homes (skilled nursing facilities) provide a higher level of medical care for residents with complex medical needs. Adult family homes are residential care settings focused on assistance with daily living, not skilled medical care. We coordinate with home health and hospice when appropriate.
Do you provide memory care?
We provide patient support for residents living with dementia or memory loss, depending on assessment and care needs. Whether our home is the right fit for a resident with significant memory loss is determined on an individual basis after evaluation.
Can residents bring their own furniture and belongings?
Yes. We encourage residents to personalize their room with familiar belongings, photos, a favorite chair, or a quilt from home. Familiar things help a new place feel like home faster.
Are visitors welcome?
Absolutely. Family and friends are welcome to visit during normal business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), and after-hours visits can be arranged. We love when families stay involved.
What if my parent's care needs change over time?
Care needs evolve. We review care plans regularly and work with families and providers to adjust support as needed. In some cases, a change in care needs may mean our home is no longer the right fit, and we'll talk with you honestly about that if it happens.
How do I know if A Home For Elderly is right for my parent?
The best way is to contact us for a conversation. We'll talk through your loved one's care needs, schedule a tour, and walk through whether our home is a good fit on both sides.

Let's talk about your loved one's specific needs.

Every resident is reviewed individually. Send us a message or give us a call. We'll listen and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit.
